REEL
Take advantage of the opportunity to join other LEAD Scholars and LEAD staff in this leadership and community building experience! This hands-on event includes a two-day program at the Warren Willis Retreat Center in Leesburg, Florida. This will be a very interactive leadership development experience (including a low ropes course experience), so bring your enthusiasm and ideas!
The purpose of this retreat is to allow LEAD Scholars to build a community, to network with peers prior to classes starting, and to begin enhancing your team building and leadership skills. The retreat registration fills up quickly! We will also have a waiting list in the event that participants cancel. The final deadline is below, but you may contact our office after this date to inquire if spaces are still available. The retreat cost includes all transportation, meals, and activities but does not include the early move-in fee.

On-Campus Housing Early Move In
Students with a confirmed on-campus housing agreement who are attending the REEL Retreat may move in to their room beginning:
Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 11 am - 4 pm ($125 early move-in fee)
Monday, August 13, 2012 from 9 am - 4 pm ($100 early move-in fee)
Open Move in begins:
Friday, August 17, 2012 from 9 am - 4 pm
Saturday
August 18, 2012 from 9 am - 4 pm
Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 11am - 4pm
Early move-in fees will be automatically billed to your university account for this service. Only the student may pick up his/her key.
Off-Campus Early Move In
Students residing in Knights Circle or the Pointe at Central must sign-up by July 16, 2012 at 5 PM with Stacey Malaret. There will be a $125 charge payable upon move-in. Move-in will be from Noon to 5 PM on Sunday, August 12, 2012 only. There will be no additional early move-in days offered for Affiliated Housing.
The $125 early move-in fee will be need to be paid upon move-in at the apartment complex.
If you are living in in one of the other area apartment complexes, it is up to you to contact their leasing office for early move-in opportunities. Other off-campus apartments may have different opening dates, so please check accordingly. Please be aware that a new lease agreement and additional rent will need to be collected for moving in earlier than your original move in date — these details must be worked out directly with your leasing agent.
Female Participants
If you choose to participate in the REEL Retreat and Sorority Recruitment (August 13-18, 2012), please note that you will miss two event rounds related to the recruitment process that will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The recruitment process consists of four "rounds" where you might have the opportunity to meet each sorority chapter (depending on sorority invitations to individual women). All sororities will receive a list of those LEAD Scholar students participating in the REEL Retreat to inform them of your excused absence prior to the beginning of sorority recruitment. However, all female REEL Retreat students will have the chance to meet representatives from each chapter at a special makeup session for REEL participants called Greek Knight Line-Up (Monday, 8/13/12 at 5pm) Please contact Fraternity and Sorority Life at for more information. However, there is no guarantee that a chapter will invite a woman who does not attend the rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday to subsequent rounds. Please see the Panhellenic Council website for a more detailed view of the sorority recruitment schedule.
