If you are interested in the LEAD Scholars Program, we encourage you to apply. Acceptance into the program is competitive and we encourage you to apply as early as possible. Completed applications are reviewed each Friday beginning in January. Applications will be accepted based on availability.

Criteria for Applying Students

application

The LEAD Scholars Program looks for potential first-time-in-college students with a strong academic, leadership, and community service background during their high school careers. Selection decisions are based on, but not limited to, the following areas:

Application Process

application

The application consists of five (5) components that need to be completed before the application is reviewed.

Once the application is complete, you will be contacted by email to set up a phone interview, where you get a chance to speak with a current LEAD Scholar one-on-one. This is meant to be a mutual interview; please feel free to both answer our questions and ask a few of your own!

When the phone interview is complete, your application, along with your academic information, is reviewed and evaluated by the selection committee.

Most students will receive a letter or email informing them of the program's decision a few days after applications have been reviewed (usually two weeks after submission). A few, however, will receive an email indicating that they are on "wait list " status, and will be informed of the application decision, typically in late summer.
